As part of the implementation of the regional component of the WACA ResIP program, the Regional Partnership for Coastal and Marine Conservation (PRCM), in collaboration with UEMOA, the World Bank, and several technical partners, is launching two calls for proposals aimed at strengthening the resilience of West African coastal zones.
These initiatives are conducted through a competitive, transparent, and inclusive process, and aim to mobilize local and scientific expertise in support of sustainable coastal management.
Call for Proposals for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs)
This call seeks to identify and support innovative, inclusive, and high-impact projects led by civil society organizations (NGOs, community networks, women’s platforms, local associations, etc.).
Projects submitted must contribute to:
- The sustainable conservation of coastal and marine ecosystems;
- Enhancing community resilience to the effects of climate change;
- Improving environmental governance through local participation;
- Technical, social, or institutional innovation in support of coastal territories.

Call for Research Proposals for Scientific Institutions
This second call targets research institutions (universities, applied research centers, specialized laboratories, scientific consortiums) engaged in generating knowledge in support of coastal resilience in West Africa.
Projects must aim to:
- Generate robust scientific data to inform coastal management decision-making;
- Strengthen the capacity of regional research institutions and promote scientific networking;
- Promote knowledge and innovation for the benefit of coastal communities;
- Propose concrete, reproducible, and sustainable solutions aligned with the priorities of the WACA ResIP program.
